  • Paragon Restaurant & Bar: good food in the pearl

My husband and I wanted to try something new and after looking at the website, we thought we would try Paragon. The booth seating was nice and we were able to watch the entire place from our seats. I ordered the chicken dish and the crab cakes to start and my husband ordered a garden salad and the beef dish. The salad was very generously sized and dressed to his liking but he was dissappointed with his steak. My crab cakes were a bit boring but the rotissary chicken came already de-boned, and two comfort food side dishes of macaroni and cheese and spinach. Really good. Overall and fun place to go and watch folks too. Over half of the place is a bar and you can go and eat and drink there. I would recommend that you eat an appetizer and have a cocktail instead of a full meal.

  • Besaw's Cafe: Great breakfast place

I love Sunday morning brunch and this is the best place in the Northwest area to do just that. Make sure you plan ahead though since they don't take reservations and there is always a wait. You can usually get immediate service at the bar/counter though and it's always the best choice when you are alone. My favorite are the eggs with NW salmon and creme cheese scramble. Very yummy. Service is always prompt once you are seated and they will provide coffee while you wait. They also service lunch and dinner at other times but I prefer their breakfast service.
