  1. High-end and also middle-end

This is one of my favorite restaurants. This place lets me have a nice'n fancy meal, or just keep things simple. Granted, keeping it simple will still probably be $40, but this is NYC. The weekday breakfast is the best - not too crowded, and very tasty. One should really make a reservation for weekend brunch, although the wait's not too long.
Balthazar has also "gotten over itself" a little; it used to have a lot of stars going - I've seen Oliver Stone, Jerry Seinfeld, and Liza Manelli there. But now, it's just busy and fun.
Importantly, the service has always been very very good - the people at the door was the only place where there was a little bit of an attitude.

  2. Balthazar

A great place for breakfast or a brunch on the weekends. Long lines prove how popular the place is. reservations recommended.
